Federasi Hoki Es Indonesia (FHEI) extends its sincere congratulations to the newly elected Council of the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) following the elections held during the 2026 IIHF Semi-Annual Congress in Tenerife, Spain.

The election convened delegates from 84 Member National Associations to establish the leadership that will guide international ice hockey over the coming four-year term.

Executive Leadership & Regional Representation

The newly elected leadership features a dynamic mix of experienced leaders and new representatives across all regional zones:

  • IIHF President: Franz Reindl (Germany) was elected as the new President of the IIHF. Reindl previously served on the IIHF Council during the 2021–2026 term.
  • Senior Vice-President: Petr Briza (Czechia) was re-elected to his role, maintaining continuity in financial management and committee oversight.
  • Regional Vice-President – Asia: Susie Jo (Republic of Korea) was elected to represent the Asian region. A former Olympian and current national team coach, Jo brings extensive experience from both playing and administrative levels in Asian ice hockey.
  • Regional Vice-President – Americas & Oceania: Mike Trimboli (USA).
  • Regional Vice-President – Europe & Africa: Igor Nemecek (Slovakia)

Strengthening Asian & Global Development

FHEI particularly highlights the strong representation within the Asian continent, including the election of Susie Jo as Regional Vice-President and Aivaz Omorkanov (Kyrgyzstan) to the IIHF Council. Their presence on the global board ensures that the growth and needs of developing ice hockey nations across Asia remain at the forefront of the IIHF strategic plan.

FHEI looks forward to collaborating closely with President Franz Reindl, Regional Vice-President Susie Jo, and the entire IIHF Council to further develop ice hockey, grassroots programs, and officiating standards in Indonesia and across Asia.
