The Federation of Indonesia Ice Hockey (FHEI) proudly celebrates the success of the City of Heroes Ice Hockey Tournament, recently held at the OCA Ice Skating Arena in Surabaya.
This milestone tournament marks a significant step in expanding Indonesia’s ice hockey ecosystem beyond the traditional hubs of Jakarta and Banten. The event featured fierce and exciting matchups across four divisions—U-15, 40+, Asian, and International—bringing together 11 incredible teams: Dragons, Batavia Rebels, Batavia Grizzlies, Bali Tigers, Golden Cobras, Storm Warriors, Asian International Select, Rhinos, Vanguard Howl, International Ice Hockey, and Nitro Panthers.
Doddy Darmawan, Deputy General Secretary of FHEI, noted that the City of Heroes tournament is much more than just a competition. "It serves as an inspiration for the youth of Surabaya to try and pursue ice hockey. Establishing Surabaya as a new growth point is fantastic for our national sports ecosystem, ensuring a larger pool of young talents for future national team selections," he stated.
FHEI extends a massive congratulations to all participating teams, athletes, and the organizing committee for a spectacular event. As we build momentum toward major international events like the SEA Games and Asian Games, we look forward to seeing more regional competitions at the junior, club, and national levels.
